Scottish Five Bar
Stallions > Scotty - 1993

10. April 1993 - 24. December 2014

Rest In Peace

Thank you Scotty for
Bringing into the barn so much joy and fun
You were the kindest creature I’ve met under this sun!
You loved your chicks and the rooster Gizmo
You shared your grain but always made sure you get your share too though
You could pin your ears and look like no other
Most of the time you were a happy camper with nothing to bother
You loved watching your girls from your small paddock
You hated big pastures, all that space - a box stall rocked
You loved your hay and grain
And hated rain
You were so special in your very unique way
The other studs all thought you’re gay
It wasn’t until this last Spring when you finally figured out
How the pasture breeding works and what it’s all about
And on the way there are a few last Scotty foals
And I sure hope that one strolls
As unique as you were onto our farm
And brings laughter into the barn!

Happy Trails Scotty!

Scottish Five Bar - AQHA Amber Champagne Stallion.
Pedigree:

Scotty is on top bred along proven ranch lines (King, Poco Bueno, Joe Reed, Pretty Buck, Blackburn, Three Bars and Rey Del Rancho) and combined with speed through his dam line. He is out of a Racing ROM producing mare by Three Leo (Leo x Three Bars). On the very bottom Scotty is bred along ranch and race lines.

With his pedigree he is able to introduce a gender balance to Three Bars and Leo which is a genetically powerful asset. Scotty himself was as quick as he was fast. He had tremendous athletic potential and a unique disposition: he got along with the other studs as well as the goose, hens and cats!

Last but not least: he was the most consistant producer I ever came by. There is no explanation from point of his pedigree why he was able to such an extent to stamp his foals. But he sure did: they are all quick, fast, have a crazy thick mane and a very pleasing disposition. Scotty was a lighter boned stallion and stood 14.2 h.

Performance & Legacy:

Scotty was never broke to ride until I bought him when he was 18 years old. He was never shown but bred quite a few mares and he still has a fan club across North America. He sired many good looking, athletic trail and ranch horses and passed on his sweet personality. One of his stallions, RVVR Seattles Charm, was exported to France, Europe, where is stands at stud. We were lucky enough to get some excellent mares by Scotty that are either on their way to the show pen or are producing fantastic foals.
