PEDIGREE

Joy (2020) is by Wheres The Ring  (a perennial Top 5 Canadian Sire with LTE: $182,900) and out of Valbella (TB) that brings into the cross the valuable Sadler's Wells genetics. This is our very first Thoroughbred foal and I put a lot of thought into the cross to establish a powerful pattern. For the frame I looked for a stallion with Mr Prospector in the direct sire line to establish a top-bottom pattern to Case Ace, the proven broodmare sire of Raise A Native. The combination of Johnstown xx Tracery is not only found in Windsor Lady (direct dam line of Valbella) but also in the dam line of Dash For Cash (QH) and Johnstown is also found in the dam line of Mr Prospector and Nashua (broodmare sire of Roberto) for example! This gives a strong top-bottom pattern to the genetic background of Mr Prospector! This cross further shows a reinforced inside-out pattern to Nearco. Wheres The Ring is gender-balanced line-bred to Menow (Pharamond x Alcibiades) and the mare Alcibiades is reinforced through the direct dam line of Sir Ivor, the broodmare sire of Valbella. Lalun, another blue hen, is the dam of Never Bend and Bold Reason and hence comes through the sire and dam line for this filly. Mahmoud comes through the dam line of Wheres The Ring; Valbella is gender-balanced line-bred to Mahmoud.  Wheres The Ring adds himself two crosses to Discovery and Blue Larkspur adding to the excellent filly factor; Blue Larkspur on the top side is reinforced through the direct dam line of Prince John. Valbella adds an inside-out pattern to SomethingRoyal through Secretariat and Sir Gaylord, adding even more mare power to the filly facors mentioned above. This filly is genetically loaded!

Let's look at Wheres The Ring three top performers to judge if the above pattern has also shown to be successful on the track. River Maid (2012) earned $568'790 and is the Champion Female Sprinter in Canada and G2 contender. She has a top and bottom reinforced inside-out patterrn to Nearco! Gypsy Ring (2006) has earned $706'334 and is a G3 contender. He is line-bred to Mr Prospector and these genetics are reinforced through a cross of Unbreakable through the dam line. Spadina Road (2011) earned $492'210 and also shows a top and bottom reinforced inside-out pattern to Nearco. He is line-bred in a top-bottom pattern to Tom Fool.

Shirls Speight (2017) bred by Fipke has broke his maiden on July 4th 2020 at Woodbine, Ontario and is undefeated in two starts. The combination of Sadler's Wells on the dam side with Mr Prospector (coming through Speightstown - sire side) is represented in some successful runners like Competitionofideas (G1 - $315'568), Rock Fall (G1 - $749'180), Essence Hit Man (Champion Sprinter in Canada - G3 - $1'354'331) and Strike Power (G3 - $249'119). The combination of Mr Prospector in the direct sire line combined with Sadler's Well in the direct broodmare sire line has proven successful beyond the mentioned combination and generates almost 25% stakes winners compared to only 6.25% expected stake winners (in regards to the combination of Mr Prospector on top and Sadler's Wells on the bottom).

Summary: this filly is bred on the top-bottom pattern to the genetics of Mr Prospector and on a reinforced inside-out pattern to Nearco besides featuring strong filly factor influence. The top performers of Wheres The Ring have shown that each of these patterns alone can make a successful runner. Statistics have shown that the combination of Mr Prospector and Sadler's Wells as established in this filly's pedigree is very successful. I think there are justified hopes for this filly...!
